Happy Onam
Hi Friends, From Adwin Battery, a very Happy Onam to all of you who celebrate this festival. May God fill the joy and divine light of this festival in your life and you feel the blessings of this day thoughout of the year. As I know, Onam is a harvest festival celebrated according to the Malyalam calender. For us, who are unknown to Malyalam calender, it falls in the month of August-September. Its origin is Kerala but it celebrated in and outside Kerala with same enthusiasm. It marks the summer harvest and is celebrated with numerous festivities. It includes Vallam Kali (boat races), Pilokali (tiger dances), Pookkalam (flower arrangement), Onathappan (worship), Onam Kali, Tug of War, Thumbi Thullal (women's dance), Kummati kali (mask dance), Onathallu (martial arts), Onavillu (music), Kazhchakkula (plantain offerings), Onapottan (costumes), Atthachamayam (folk songs and dance), and other celebrations.
